In keeping with the triennial schedule of the International Conference on Chemicals Management as provided for in the Overarching Policy Strategy of the Strategic Approach, the third session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM3) will take place in Nairobi, from 17 to 21 September 2012.

ICCM3 will mark a major milestone in the implementation of the Strategic Approach since its adoption in 2006. For the first time, the Conference will review progress in the implementation of the Strategic Approach with tangible data on the 20 indicators of progress adopted at the second session. More importantly, the Conference will consider recommendations from the Executive Board of the Quick Start Programme regarding the future of the Programme and its trust fund, as contributions will only be accepted until September 2012. The session will include a high-level segment, incorporating opportunities for formal statements, two roundtable discussions as well as other special events.

The working languages for the third session of the Conference will be Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The session will be opened on Monday, 17 September, at 10 a.m. and concluded by 6 p.m. on Friday, 21 September 2012.
