|
According to rule 23 of the Conferences rules of procedure, subsidiary bodies may be established to carry out such objectives as may be agreed upon at a session of the Conference. Unless decided otherwise by the Conference, the Conferences rules of procedure apply mutatis mutandis to the proceedings of any subsidiary body with the exception that the Bureau of a subsidiary body shall not exceed five in number. |
| The Conference has established an Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) as a subsidiary body at its second session. More information on the OEWG is available here. |
| Previously, the Conference had decided at its first session to establish an Open-Ended Legal and Technical Working Group for one meeting in preparation of the second session of the Conference. The OELTWG met in Rome from 21 to 24 October 2008. |
