of the second meeting of the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Coordination
Committee on SAICM
Following consultations by the Latin America and Caribbean regional focal point, the SAICM secretariat is preparing for a meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Regional Coordinating Committee on the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), in Santiago, Chile, on 15 and 16 November 2009. The meeting will take place prior to the ECLAC meeting scheduled to commence on 17 November 2009.
The aim of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Coordinating Committee meeting will be to review outcomes of the second session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management, identify priorities for follow-up in the Latin America and Caribbean region, develop an a work plan for the Regional Coordinating Committee in the intersessional period and to prepare for a full Latin America and Caribbean regional meeting on SAICM expected to take place in early 2010.
